Wrestler training includes
Personal
Evaluation - I am an honest man and I do not ever wish to take
some ones money for training if I feel they don't have the potential
to make it past training. If you seem fit enough and have the heart
to do it I will accept you as a student. If I decline you I will
discuss the possibilities of becoming a Referee, Manager, or if
your a woman making you a Valet.
Back stage etiquette - There are a set of
unwritten rules about how you act and proceed with others in the
dressing rooms. I will give you hand outs to study and also go over
all of this information with you. The way you act in the dressing
room is one of the factors to getting ahead in this business.
Professional courtesy - I will discuss the
dos and don'ts about professional courtesy. There is a reason this
is called Professional Wrestling, we are all Pros and we should
act and treat each other the same regardless of personal feelings.
When every one is professional with every one it makes for a much
more relaxed atmosphere. There will be a hand out on this for you
to study as well.
General etiquette - This will cover things
such as how to act while on road trips, staying in hotels, working
for new promotions you have never worked for before, your behavior
on the internet. If you are really serious about being a Professional
Wrestler these things will help you get booked and rebooked. All
of us in the business have made mistakes and I am sure you will
too, but the more I can teach you to prevent this the better off
you are. There will be a hand out on this for you to study as well.
Wrestling basics & holds - Before you
can start launching yourself off the top rope, swing a steel chair,
or blast your opponent through a table you need to learn the basics
of wrestling (including taking falls) and all the initial holds.
With out knowing any of these your matches will be about as impressive
as one of those "It was obvious that guy was going to take
a dive for Mike Tyson in the first 30 seconds" bouts.
Take downs & Reversals - This is where
we start to take some of the more serious moves into the training
course. You will also be taught numerous reversals for holds. This
take down phase of training is for the more experienced student
since you have the safety of your fellow students in your hands.
Ring psychology - The key to wrestling is
being able to read the crowd and then be able to make them do what
you want. I will teach you how the flow of a match goes, when to
speed it up or when to slow it down. Wrestling is a very complicated
science and the only way to get to the top is by marrying the Promoters
Daughter (which is the easiest) or by being the master of Ring Psychology.
I like all trainers can only teach you the basics, this is some
that truly takes time to develop since it is a way of thinking.
Some people catch on in a few months, yet in others it takes years.
To this day I still know guys in the business who haven't mastered
this after 10 years.
Interview training - Not every one will be
good on a microphone doing an interview. I will how ever give you
time to practice in front of a video camera and give you tips on
how to better your self. Every one needs to have their own style
and needs to believe in every word they are saying even if it is
all a lie. I truly wish I knew this back in Elementary school when
I wanted to play sick and stay home. There are many people in the
industry who will never be good on a microphone so if you lack in
this department do not worry I will help you improve in other areas
to compensate. I also suggest practicing in front of a mirror or
your friends. You have to think of a Wrestling interview as FreeStyle
Rapping, you shouldn't need to spend 3 weeks writing a speech when
you can walk out to the ring grab a mic and speak freely about the
subject you want and get the correct response out of the crowd.
High spots - This is the part of training
where we take all the wrestling skills you have acquired so far
and start stringing them together into what they refer to as a high
spot. High spots are high points in the match where several moves
get strung together in a some what fast paced manner.
Development of timing - This is honestly
just as important to learn as falling is. Every one needs to be
on the same clock or some one will be injured. Wrestling only flows
if both wrestler have the correct timing.
Character development - I did just as I
am sure you do have an idea what your wrestling persona is going
to be. Well some of you may have a good idea, then again some of
you are going to have to give up on your idea. I look back at mine
now and shake my head. I thought it was great and at this point
I am 100% happy with what character I was given by my trainer to
develop It is very crucial you have the right character or you will
never succeed and be marketable in the fans eyes. I can only push
you in what seems like a correct direction for you and I unlike
some schools will not ever give you a character that's a joke for
their amusement. Some of you will seem more fit to be Big Burly
Brawlers while others might be Fast High Flyers. This just as ring
Psychology takes a while to master. You have to fine tune your character
and keep reinventing him (or her) and if after a few years it just
isn't working out you need to start with some thing new. When wrestlers
make it to places such as the WWE they are evaluated via try outs
or scouts even these guys have to some times change their persona
to make the WWE happy since they think it isn't working out. But
if you truly believe in your character, give 110%, and don't have
an ego the crowd will love you even if your lacking in wrestling
skill.
Creation of a 8x10 Portfolio - When you
are ready to graduate from the school I will help you develop a
Photo portfolio for your self. I will make the original set of photos
but if you want copies you will have to do that your self. you can
use these photos to send to other wrestling promotions as part of
your promotional package you need to make (I will tell you exactly
how to create this). You can also use the copies of them to sell
at shows. You will find that any extra money you can make on the
road while traveling will be the difference whether your eating
a steak dinner or a can of tuna for dinner.
40 two hour training sessions - I guarantee
you will receive 80 hours of training via my classes split into
2 hour sessions generally 3 times a week. If these times are not
good for you and there is enough interest from others I might expand
classes to other days or times. Classes start promptly so be there
15 minutes in advance to prepare properly. If your late you can
expect to start of doing push ups. I will how ever understand if
some ones late due to an emergency, work, or even some thing like
driving your mother some where. Please just call my cell phone in
advance to let me know this, I hate people who show up late with
no excuse.
Guarantee of tryout match - I can not and
will not guarantee you a successful career, nor will I even promise
you getting booked any where. What I will promise you is a tryout
match with one of the local wrestling promotions. If you show potential
they will be interested in giving you some more matches at their
convenience. I have connections to all of the promotions in BC and
they are all looking for the next possible superstar. Since this
is a tryout DO NOT expect to get paid, and if for some reason they
do decide to pay you be very grateful as many or most wrestler go
long periods of time trying to prove them selves for no pay.
Fee for training: The cost for wrestling training is $1800.00
total. I expect a $300 deposit before I begin any training for
you. Your are then obligated to pay 5 more installments of $300
until you have paid the full $1800. Each class is valued at $37.50
which means I will give 8 classes before a payment must be made.
If you are over a 2 weeks late on a payment your training will be
put on hold until you are paid off on past due fees. There is no
refunds of any kind, and you are responsible to pay for any classes
taken. This means that if you quit your training, any classes you
have attended past the point you were paid to are owed for at $37.50
a class.

The training
for these positions are very similar to a Wrestlers. You need to
know all the basics and the psychology to be effective in your supporting
role. You need to learn your place as a supporting role and know
your not supposed to be the center of attentions unless directed
to be. Referees honestly have a very hard job and through out my
experience in the ring I know veteran Referees can actually help
save your match if it is falling apart.
